GLOBAL 180

As a “by youth for youth” organization, Global 180 is concerned with seeing youth become committed to excellence in all areas of life: developing character, making positive, healthy choices, and realizing their life’s purpose. They most recently began work with youth in Mississauga.  Their youth drop-in centre, 180: Merge, is a place for students throughout Mississauga to come together and be able to hang out in a safe, familiar environment. They also run 180: Fuse, a fun, safe social program designed specifically by and for Middle School age youth.

HEARTLAND GLOBAL MISSIONARIES

Mark & Kim Steinfield [Alyssa, Madeleine, Caleb]

Yerevan, Armenia

The Steinfields have lived in Armenia for 10 years.  They have two daughters (Alyssa and Madeleine) and a son (Caleb). Mark & Kim lived in the northern city of Vanadzor for 7 years where they worked with local church pastors to train leaders through Ararat School of the Bible.  They also started a charity, Loads of Love, in Vanadzor to help care for some of the needs of the impoverished still living in temporary containers 23 years after the devastating earthquake of 1988. Since moving to Yerevan in 2008, Mark and Kim have diversified their ministry.  They continue to direct Loads of Love, but have branched into other spheres of ministry.  They are involved in leadership at Yerevan International Church (YIC), a church that has a large number of Indian medical students attending.   Kim is the Family Life Coordinator at YIC, heading up children and family ministries. Mark is helping the Pentecostal Union establish their national education program and a Bible College in Yerevan.  He is also heavily involved in teaching at YWAM, in Armenian churches, and for international opportunities on topics related to Bible, theology and missions.

Rick & Lisa Bursey  [Alex, Jackson]

Linares, Mexico

“At iam1ru Mexico, we believe every child deserves a life of love and opportunity, regardless of their circumstances.  Our purpose in Mexico is to bring increase in the quality of life to impoverished and displaced children and families”, they say.  Rick and Lisa Bursey (of Mississauga, ON), relocated their family to Linares, Mexico to do just that. As Dream Agents, the Burseys dedicate their lives to serving the hurting, hopeless, and helpless by:

Fulfilling SIMPLE DREAMS…by linking individuals’ needs with the generous spirit of Canadian and American donors, the Burseys and Possibilities International help to bring happy endings to what would otherwise be devastating stories.

Team Hosting…Recognizing the impact prior visits to Mexico had on their personal desire to make a difference in the world, the Burseys bring teams of all ages to share in ‘their Mexico’.  Visiting team members provide much needed humanitarian outreach as they learn to grasp the value of loving others by being a ‘hand extended’.

Disaster Relief...Along with the help of visiting Canadian teams, the Burseys bring on-going practical and emotional support to local families struggling to rebuild their lives after the devastation caused by Hurricane Alex.

Orphanage…The passion that first brought the Burseys to Mexico… they are now in the application process required to open the first iam1ru Mexico Children’s Home, a home that will bring love and dignity to many Mexican children abandoned by family members.
